Fujifilm was established on April 12, 2001, and its business areas include digital cameras, video products, skin care products, printing products, medical products, optoelectronic products, and industrial materials, which have brought many solutions to the rapid development of China’s printing industry. Recently, FUJIFILM has been granted a utility model patent for waste printing ink processing in the printing industry. The patent is independently developed by Fujifilm (China) Investment Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Fujifilm (China)), which can effectively reduce the waste processing cost by 80%, and promote the recycling of waste materials and reduce the impact on the environment. As the patent goes into mass production, it is expected that the printing industry will succeed in getting out of the “pollution” puzzle and open a new era for green printing.

The phrase “value from innovation” in English is printed today on Fujifilm’s employees’ business cards. This is not only the new slogan put forward at the 80th anniversary of the establishment of the company, but also the biggest secret of Fujifilm as the world’s largest film producer once the film market is almost completely occupied by digital camera technology.

At present, as the impact of new media on traditional media is increasingly evident, the profit of the newspaper industry continues to decline. Will this affect the overall development of the printing industry? For Fujifilm’s doubts, Vice Chairman Lu stated that the Chinese printing industry will maintain a steady development for a long period of time. The decline in the newspaper industry does have a certain impact, but it has been steadily developing in children’s books, textbooks, teaching aids, etc., and is expected to remain a growth of 6% or more in the 13th Five-Year Plan period. In addition, China’s packaging printing accounts for more than 75% of the total output value of the printing industry, and it also maintains an average annual increase of 6%, so the decline in newspapers and magazines will not affect the sound development of the printing industry as a whole.

It can be said that the leading technologies allow Fujifilm to remain invincible no matter it is in the internal competition within the film industry in the past, or in the transformation and upgrading of the industry at present. At present, Fujifilm is making efforts in the field of digital printing. Vice Chairman Lu also mentioned that in the era of rapid network payment, the rapid development of network technology and digital technology has brought about new opportunities for digital technology in the field of printing. In addition, the fast-printing of photo and text in China is in large demand, and the rapid printing shops throughout the country also have a huge role in promoting the digital printing market.

The person in charge of Fujifilm also expressed that the company will closely follow the development trend of national environmental protection, increase the promotion and application of flexographic technology, in a bid to provide better technical solutions to those companies hibernating in the harsh winter of the industry.
